I'm well over 18 and am a long time writer, and podficcer in the Harry Potter and Percy Jackson fandoms. I've only recently started messing around with art (since April 2015) and consider myself a beginner. But I'm drawing every day and recently purchased a tablet. I see myself improving. I hope others will too.
